granola - laine de chanvre

I am so happy to finally introduce the new GRANOLA into my hand-dyed yarn collection!!

For those who don’t want to wait and would like to SHOP GRANOLA NOW, you may do so by using the following link: CANADIAN ONLINE STORE or USA ONLINE STORE !!

This new hand-dyed GRANOLA yarn is made of merino wool (70%) and hemp (30%) and is available in 100g skeins for a total of 300 mètres (328 yds). To knit this yarn, the suggested needles are 3.5 to 4 mm to obtain an approximative gauge of 22 to 24 sts.

Hemp is a very interesting fiber with multiple benefits!

In addition to being a plant that can be cultivated without pesticides and that uses 4 times less water than cotton to produce an equivalent amount of textile fibers, hemp has antibacterial properties and a great absorption capacity. Moreover, hemp is thermoregulatory so it will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer! …And I’m not even talking about its health benefits!

WASHING CARE OF GRANOLA YARN: Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water. Machine dry: This yarn has the property of stretching a lot when wet and regaining its shape when machine dried. If, after several washes/machine dryings, you notice that the garment has shrunk a bit, spray it with a little water and dry it flat, stretching it to the desired dimensions.

TO CELEBRATE THE ADDITION OF THIS NEW GRANOLA YARN INTO MY HAND-DYED YARN COLLECTION, I AM HAPPY TO OFFER YOU MY NEW DESIGN, FREE OF CHARGE, THE SHORT SLEEVES TOP – VERTILIGNE –

You can order this pattern here on the CANADIAN WEBSITE or on the USA WEBSITE.

In front of the bust, I played with garter stitch rows to create a simple pattern made of vertical lines in order to lengthen the silhouette but also to accentuate the effect of the pattern’s construction, which is knitted from one sleeve to the other. This pattern is knitted sideways, from one sleeve to the other. If needed, please refer to the illustration about knitting directions at the end of the document. The design start with the first sleeve knitted in the round, and then sts are cast-on for the body, which is knitted back and forth.  Then, the knitting separates in two, the front and the back are worked separately while the neckline is being made, then the two sections are joined again to finish the body in back and forth rows and the second sleeve in the round.

That’s not all!!! For the release of this new hemp yarn, enjoy this launch promotion***: get a FREE CHANV hand cream with the purchase of 3 skeins of GRANOLA yarn ♥
